High School Academics
From the Desk of Mr. Smith, HS Principal
Welcome to a new and exciting school year! Our entire high school staff is excited to speak into the hearts and minds of our students. Our enrollment is strong with actually more students attending our high school than last year. God is good and always faithful. New staff this year include Mr. DeCracker who is heading up our computer lab and we are looking forward to offering a computer programing class during second semester. In the art department Mr. Raschick is challenging our students to develop their artistic skills. Mr. Stevens is our new history teacher and is excited to be here at Cedar Park.
Over the last ten years at Cedar Park Christian School I have witnessed first hand the tremendous ministry God has allowed to take root in our community. Ultimately it is the heart of our teachers that provide such a tangible experience for our students. Having our students come back and see the teachers that made such a profound impact in their lives is truly rewarding.
It is an honor and privilege to serve our families and the community through the ministry of Cedar Park Christian School. We look forward to continuing to work with such great families.
May God continue to bless our families, staff, and school.

2010 One Acts Announced - January 19th to 21st
General Information:
This semester we will be performing 8 different one-acts. All performances will be in-the-round in the commons. One-acts, directors and a synopsis of each show are listed below:
Tuesday, January 19th:
Live, Love, LARP
Written by Samantha Laurenti, Directed by Zac Boeckel, senior
9:00am (2nd period)
Comedy. “All across the world “Live Action Role-playing” (LARP) has captivated countless individuals. The sensation that accompanies the resounding clash of swords and spears is greatly felt at a small high school in Missouri where a group of students band together to skirmish as rival “countries.” Craziness ensues when the truth surfaces about a secret that each country’s leaders have been keeping. This original script full of brilliant dialogue and side-splitting jokes was written by senior, Samantha Laurenti.” –Zac Boeckel
Part Time
Directed by Lexi Stevens, senior
10:45am (4th period)
Comedy. “John, a graduating high school senior, works in the Foods-On-A-Stick booth at Wonderland Amusement Park. Toiling alongside him are his older friends Fritz, a perpetually late slacker, and Harold, an aspiring actor who always gets stuck patrolling the grounds dressed as the park's mascot, a large purple woodchuck named Chucky. When Harold misses his one big chance to become a professional actor, John and Fritz take it into their own hands to save Harold's dream—and avoid doing any real work while they're still on the clock, of course.” –Jesse Jamison
Just Desserts
Directed by Cole Erno, senior
1:00pm (6th period)
Farce. “Where there's a will, there's a relative. This was never truer than in the case of the late Desmond Clairborn. And greed was never better represented than in the relatives of the deceased. There's a fast-talking nephew, a demented son and his Marilyn Monroe look-alike wife, a star-child niece and two sisters, one feisty, the other senile. This farce has more twists than a pretzel, and half the fun is watching who gets what, and the other half is watching them get it.”—Pat Cook
Wednesday, January 20th:
Breaking News
Directed by Megan Barber, senior
8:00am (1st period)
Comedy. “Channel Eight is Detroit’s least-watched newscast. The ratings are lower than ever, the viewers are leaving their TVs off so they don’t accidentally tune in, the writers are adding on-air fights to the anchors’ scripts, and the reporters can’t tell a story to save their lives. As a last-ditch effort, the station hires a news director with a plan to make Channel Eight number one. What the station doesn’t realize is that his plan involves a reporter being shot on air. Will the Channel Eight news team catch on to his scheme? Or will it turn out that the best way to break news is to fix it? Find out, straight ahead!” —Tim Kochenderfer
Cyrano de Bergen County, New Jersey
Directed by Shelby Leising, senior
9:50am (3rd period)
The World Premiere! Comedy. When it's discovered that two likable jocks, Gene and Ralph, haven't read Cyrano de Bergerac for a big test the next period, Ridgewood High's cafeteria is thrown into disarray as the assembled students rack their brains to help them. Claire, a whiz kid with a ridiculously oversized unibrow and a secret crush, devises an elaborate plan to stage the entirety of the play in order to help the hapless athletes. This is an uproarious, fast-paced spoof of Edmond Rostand's classic.” —Les Hunter
With their Eyes
Directed by Samantha Lundberg, junior
11:45am (5th period)
Drama. “Everyone remembers where they were when they first heard news of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. No one felt the impact of the attacks more than the people of New York City. “With Their Eyes” tells the stories of students and faculty from Stuyvesant High School: a high school four blocks away from Ground Zero.” –Sam Lundberg
Thursday, January 21st:
(chapel schedule)
Crowned
Written by Olivia Nivison and Delaney Griebel, Directed by Delaney Griebel, junior
8:00am (1st period)
Comedy. Jessie Norman, an offbeat high school senior, wants nothing more than to be Milwaukee High School's Homecoming Queen. At her attempts to fulfill her dream, she must deal with her eccentric mother and several outlandish students. But this chaos isn’t Jessie’s biggest problem. The school's self-absorbed mean girl, who is willing to sabotage Jessie in order to get the crown for herself, steps in to make matters worse. Both girls turn to Julian, the nerdy Physics tutor, to help them accomplish their goals. It is then up to Julian to choose which side he will take, determining whether or not Jessie will be crowned Homecoming Queen. –Olivia Nivison
Those Wedding Bells Shall Not Ring Out
Directed by Trinya Murray, senior
9:25am (3rd period)
Melodrama. “That nasty rogue, Snicklefritz Grubb, is passing himself off as a "bachelor photographer" in Central City, Colorado. Grubb hopes to ensnare a rich widow or young heiress. He rents space in the Herb Pharmacy of Miz Cindy, who is known as the "Angel of the Mining Camps" because of her nursing skills. Cindy's in love with Darius D. Dogood, the newspaper editor. One day an old miner gives Cindy a huge gold nugget, and Snicklefritz decides he must have it--especially since the gun-totin' Mrs. Clutchpurse is demanding that he pay back money he's borrowed--or else! Snicklefritz decides to force our heroine to be his bride in order to get the nugget. Watching the dirty work is a howl. The complications are non-stop. The audience will have a great time!”—Tim Kelly
