Kindergarten Academics
From the Desk of Mrs. Zirschky, Elementary Principal
Every parent wants their child to be successful in school, reaching their full potential in life. In order to build a “great house,” a builder always begins with a strong and solid foundation. Often, in fact, more effort and care is placed in building the foundation than is placed in any other aspect of the building. The kindergarten program at Cedar Park Christian Schools provides a strong and solid foundation. Children in kindergarten experience the delight of “hands-on” activities that feed the imagination and creative nature of a child. The best approach to teaching reading is a strong intensive phonics program along with specific literacy skills and experience with literature. Our classroom reading curriculum incorporates all the language processes in a meaningful context that values purposeful reading and writing. Students learn basic math and develop a love and excitement for mastery of skills. Development issues are addressed in all areas including fine motor skills in our pre-cursive writing program for kindergarteners.
The kindergarten staff and I are committed to providing the very best education possible, and we know that the foundation must include God and His Son, Jesus Christ!
