SUMMER SCHOOL
Who needs summer school?
· High school student with an F in any course
· Middle school student with an F in two core subjects
(If you are uncertain as to whether your student needs to take summer school, please contact your student’s teacher[s])
Please bring your calendar and checkbook so that you are able to confirm your student will not miss more than the permitted number of classes and register. Since there are only about 6 weeks in summer we need to get organized right away.
The enrollment deadline for summer school is Thursday, June 17 at 3:00 p.m. Enrollment paperwork will be available in every school office by Friday, May 21. You must first complete the blue postcard and submit it to the appropriate administrator for their approval. Then you need to complete and submit the blue-colored financial agreement and summer school contract (must also be signed by the student) and turn them all in with the applicable fees.

- $70 per class per semester
You will pay the teacher directly either $300 (math) or $275 (all other subjects) per class per semester.
Fully enrolled students will be contacted by their teacher with notification as to time and location of their classes.
- Summer school will begin on June 28, 2010 and end on August 9, 2010.
- Student must be completely registered by June 17, 2010 - 3:00 p.m. (all school offices closed Tues. June 16)
- Mathematics classes will be Mon/Wed/Fri for two hours each day (times and location to be determined by the teacher). Except the week of July 4 will meet TBD due to the holiday. Students requiring two semesters will be in class four hours each day.
- English and Social Studies courses will be Tue/Thu for two hours each day (times and location to be determined by the teacher). Students requiring two semesters will be in class four hours each day.
- Attendance Policy:
Every student is expected to be in class on time, the first day of class.
Every class must be attended.
A maximum of two (2) absences are allowed provided the absence is excused and the work is made up in order to receive any credit.
Four (4) tardies constitutes one (1) absence.
Missing thirty (30) minutes or more in any class is defined as an absence.
- Refund Policy:
Only the Subject fee may be refunded ($70), the Registration fee is non-refundable ($30).
Refunds will not be granted to students who fail to meet the attendance requirement.
A written notice of withdrawal from the summer school program must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. June 23, 2010 - or no refund will be granted.
- Homework Policy:
Parents and students should expect that there will be a significant amount of lessons and studying to be completed outside of the hours when the student specifically meets with the teacher. Any questions or issues should be first addressed to their specific teacher.
