Senior Class Events Coordinator: Megan Fieser (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Welcome to senior year at CPCS! Senior year is filled with events, activities, and memory making fun! It surrounds around honor of the student and parents in this momentous season of life. If you've been at Cedar Park Christian School for any amount of time, you may have seen and or heard of the great honor that is placed on the final academic year.
Senior Welcome Back Meeting
This meeting is to let Senior Families know more about what to expect for this year and how to plan. We will be having a Welcome Meeting for all who plan on having their student participate in our graduation ceremony in June.
During this special evening, we take time to honor, bless, and commission our seniors with spoken words from the parents/guardians over their child. During dinner, parents/guardians have the opportunity to speak a blessing over their senior. Each family will have up to 1 minute to stand and speak about their student. This could be in the form of a verse or poem, or any way the parent would like to verbally affirm their child. Words of value, worth and affirmation of who they are in Christ, or any way to show them what they mean to you.
Each spring, we take time to honor mom in the lives of our Seniors. We celebrate by hosting a Senior Tea where moms are honored by their Senior in a written letter. We also have a slideshow and fantastic food. We hold two teas with half the class attending on each date. Parents will choose which date best fits their schedule. Invitations will be sent out with the opportunity to RSVP.
Donuts with Dad
Senior fathers and their graduates will share in an informal donut/continental breakfast with time for community and fellowship. We also have the open gym and game time for whoever would like to participate.
This day is designed by senior parents as a "legal skip day" for seniors. It is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to bond and create lasting memories as a class. Seniors wear their senior t-shirts that they receive at retreat and have a special class photo taken by Dane Snyder.
This is an opportunity for parents to prayerfully encourage their senior during this final year of high school. Once per month a group of parents spend time praying for the senior class. They also plan a creative way to bless the seniors. Ideas that have been done in the past are: providing lunch in the commons, encouraging cards, small gifts, sweet treats, Jamba Juice, popcorn, etc.
