We are proud to introduce our new school seal used on diplomas, academic awards, and school publications. The elements on the seal each have a deep meaning:
- The cross places Jesus Christ at the center of our mission.
- The open book represents Scripture, scholarship, and lifelong learning.
- The lamp symbolizes truth, wisdom, and the light that guides our learning.
- The eagle reflects our mascot as well as strength, courage, and renewed hope in the Lord.
- The cedar branches represent rooted faith and enduring growth.
The Latin motto, “Finis coronat opus,” means “The end crowns the work.” Three passages give the motto a strong biblical foundation:
- Ecclesiastes 7:8 — Completion with patience and humility. “Better is the end of a thing than its beginning.” The verse connects completion with patient perseverance—a fitting foundation for disciplined study and character formation.
- 2 Timothy 4:7–8 — Finishing faithfully. Paul describes finishing his race and keeping the faith, then anticipates the crown of righteousness awarded by the Lord. This is the clearest biblical connection between faithful completion and a crown.
- Philippians 1:6 — Trusting God to complete His work. Christian perseverance rests on God’s faithfulness: He brings the good work He begins in His people to completion.
